1. When coloring using only one color, it is important to vary the cross-hatching and layering to create shade and volume.

2. For example, on the bus, we used tiny lines to fill in the space, the more lines, the darker the area and effect. The angle of the lines can also define the plane of your object.

3. On the various buildings we used different forms – tiny circles create the roof tiles, diagonal lines give a sense of depth on the side of the building, etc.

4. To finalize the poster, we went back over the resting areas to add more lines and darken the shadows – the more the poster is colored, the more real it appears!
